The image within the cover of the news paper

Broadcast News Analysis

Who do the reporters interview during the broadcast?
The reporters are filming a heated debate between a local youth who was not involved in the riot but involved in the clean up and the mayor of london Borris Johnson. The broadcast is filmed within the the clean up campaign shortly after the riots where over.

What images are used in the news broadcast? what do they suggest about the representation of young people in the riots?
The broadcast starts off by showing clips of the London riot clean up campaign and swiftly cuts to a discussion between the mayor of London Borris Johnson and a young black youth who is taking part of the clean up. The discusion shows a alternative view of young people and strays away from the stereotype of trouble making youths. The young man is trying to tell the mayor that although he dosent condole the riots, they didn't happen for no reason and he along with others feel there needs to be changes made. The issues that are raised are such things as cuts, tuition fees and lack of jobs etc.

Is the broadcast biased in any way?
I personally dont feel the broadcast is biased in any way as it is showing both sides of the story without putting a negative stereotype upon the youths. This is done by the youths not being represented by a "hoodie" and by a respectable youth who is part of the clean up campaign.

Are youths given a fair voice within the broadcast?
I believe in this broadcast youths are given a fair voice as borris doesn't really but in his point and the whole broadcast is basically dedicated to this young mans opinions and the opinions of other youths.
